From May to July 2021, the TMG Research team embarked on a study of the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to learn more about how AI is impacting, and in fact changing, utility operations and business processes today and into the future.
The study consisted primarily of two means of soliciting feedback from the utility AI marketplace. First was an online survey that was emailed out to several thousand utility contacts maintained by TMG Research. The results of this online survey appear in the following sections of this report. The second source was a series of 10 interviews conducted with utility AI and analytics leaders from across the United States. Selected excerpts from these interviews are included in this report to add context and insights to the various topics covered in the report.
